Why We Use Cookies
DemandFirst uses cookies for the following core purposes:
- Authentication & Security — To verify your identity, maintain your login session, and protect your account from unauthorized access.
- Platform Functionality — To remember your preferences such as language settings, filter states, and UI configurations across sessions.
- Performance & Analytics — To understand how users navigate DemandFirst, which features are most used, and where improvements can be made. All data is anonymized.
- Fraud Prevention — To detect and prevent fraudulent activity, abuse of the matching system, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- Payment Processing — Stripe sets technical cookies necessary to process payments securely and prevent transaction fraud.
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site behavioral tracking.

Categories of Cookies
We categorize the cookies we use into four types:
Essential
Strictly necessary for the platform to function. Cannot be disabled without breaking core features like login and deal rooms.
Functional
Enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferences and dashboard layout.
Analytics
Help us understand platform usage through anonymized, aggregated data. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Marketing
Not used by DemandFirst. We do not run retargeting campaigns or share data with advertising networks.

Managing Your Preferences
You have full control over the cookies stored on your device. You can manage them through the following methods:
- Browser Settings — All major browsers allow you to view, block, and delete cookies via their privacy or settings menus. Visit your browser's help documentation for step-by-step instructions.
- Opt-Out of Analytics — You may opt out of anonymized analytics tracking by contacting us at privacy@demandfirst.app. Note that this does not affect Essential or Functional cookies.
- Clearing Cookies — You can delete all stored cookies at any time through your browser's privacy settings. This will log you out of the platform and reset your saved preferences.
⚠ Important: Disabling Essential cookies will prevent you from logging in, accessing Deal Rooms, and using core platform features. We recommend keeping Essential and Functional cookies enabled for the best experience.

Third-Party Cookies
DemandFirst integrates with a limited number of trusted third-party services that may set their own cookies on your device:
- Stripe: Our payment processor sets essential cookies for transaction security and fraud prevention. These are strictly necessary and cannot be disabled when making payments.
- AfterShip: Our logistics tracking integration may use session-level identifiers to correlate shipment status with deal records. No personal data is shared.
- Hotjar (optional): If enabled, Hotjar collects anonymized heatmap and session recording data. No PII is captured. You may opt out via the Hotjar opt-out page or by contacting us.
We do not integrate with Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any advertising network cookies. DemandFirst will never sell your behavioral data to third parties.

Policy Updates
DemandFirst may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other operational reasons.
When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- Notify active users via in-platform notification or email with at least 14 days' notice.
Your continued use of DemandFirst after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Cookie Policy.
